Acne on different parts of your face can indicate various underlying health issues. "Acne, simply put, is a skin condition where your hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. This often leads to the formation of pimples, blackheads, or whiteheads.



The primary culprits behind acne are hormonal changes, excess oil production, bacteria, and even genetics," explains Dr Geetika Mittal Gupta, aesthetic physician and founder of Isaac Luxe (located in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru). Adding to this, Dr Rishabh Raj Sharma, dermatologist at Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences, shares that while acne can affect individuals with all skin types, some skin types may be more prone to certain types of acne. For example, oily or combination skin types may be more susceptible to developing acne due to excess sebum production.
