Photo by Suzanne Westover / POSTMEDIA Article content Last week, the trees we requested in the fall of 2023 through the City of Ottawa’s Trees in Trust program arrived.



A lovely red maple and a flowering pear tree were delivered to the barren grassland across from our home. We’d struck a deal with our neighbours, who live on a generous corner lot facing our house: if they made the request, we’d care for the trees. It’s a win-win.
