WESTLIFE star Shane Filan has recalled a fond memory with his late dad. The singer lost his mum Mae to lung cancer on December 15, 2019 and his dad Peter to pancreatic cancer on October 4, 2020. The Sligo native paid an emotional tribute on Instagram yesterday for Father's Day.
The 44-year-old posted a sweet throwback snap of himself and his dad smiling outside the airport. Shane wore a black t-shirt, black trousers and a black leather jacket. While a proud-looking Peter had a grey polo top and navy and red rain jacket on.
Shane said it was "one of the many times he dropped" him to the airport. The Irish star explained: "He loved doing it and I loved our chats in the car every time. "He taught me so much.
Miss you Dad. Today is a day to celebrate! Happy Father’s Day to all." Shane's fans flooded the comment section with supportive and loving messages.
