A new housing scheme hopes to bring 600 homes to the county. Lovell Partnerships and West Sussex County Council have launched their new housing scheme as part of their 30-year partnership. The first 22 affordable homes are currently under construction off Manor Road, Southwick, on the brownfield site formerly home to Eastbrook Primary School.

These houses will offer a range of two, three and four bedroom homes. They will all be heated by air source heat pumps to minimise the development’s carbon footprint and a range of measures will be taken to protect biodiversity, such as bat boxes, hedgehog highways and tree planting. The partnership, announced in 2021, also includes Kinsted Developments LLP, who endeavour to set “high standards in planning and construction” and are “sensitive to the natural surroundings”.
