June 27 – 28: Back by popular demand, AARP presents a Safe Driver Course at Greenwich Free Library. This six-hour course will be offered over two days: Thursday June 27 and Friday June 28 from 1:00 p.m.

—4:00 p.m. each day.



The public is invited to learn research-based safety strategies to help keep you safe while on the road. After taking the course, individuals may be eligible for a multi-year discount on their car insurance. (Consult auto insurance agent for details.

) Participants should bring their driver’s license and, if applicable, AARP Membership card. There is a materials fee for this event, $25 for AARP members; $30 non members, payable at the event. Space is limited, so register now by calling 518-692-7157 or visiting greenwichfreelibrary.

org . June 28: Paint and sip. The Slate Valley Museum will welcome instructor Darcie Parrott back for a paint on slate workshop.

Guests will paint a bright floral foreground with mountains in the distance on a slate roofing tile sourced from our region’s slate industry. No painting experience is required. Pre-registration for the workshop is required.
