Getting onto the property ladder, especially during the cost of living crisis, is not feasible for many. But a savvy couple has shown there's a way to get around the problem. Instead of throwing money at rental properties or taking out a stressful mortgage repayment plan, some are turning to vehicle conversions instead.
Not only can this be more affordable, it also allows you to travel around if you'd like to. Mandy and her husband Ritomo, both 32, are among the people to successful achieve this. The pair, who work as Japanese teachers, snapped up a former school bus for £3,500 and got to work.
The Canadian couple converted the old banger into a snug space they can now call home. And it even has the seal of approval from their dog, Oscar. The pair, who have no prior DIY experience, showed exactly how they pulled off the conversion.
They documented the process on social media – explaining it took roughly two years to finish. They have lived in the old bus for three years – but the process wasn't always easy. Mandy revealed it took "a lot of sweat blood and tears" to complete the project.
Not only did they have to lear.
