Listen to Story Kudos to those who embrace their natural body and facial hair! However, many prefer to remove it for comfort or to enhance their appearance. Choosing the right method for hair removal is crucial, as each technique has its pros and cons. While waxing is often painful, shaving leads to quick re-growth, and we all have considered the idea of getting laser hair removal done.

To help you decide the best way to get rid of unwanted hair, India Today got in touch with a few experts for a comprehensive guide on various hair removal methods. "Waxing is a popular hair removal method that involves applying a sticky substance to the skin, which adheres to the hair. When the wax is removed, it pulls the hair out from the root, resulting in longer-lasting smoothness," says Dr Rishabh Raj Sharma, dermatologist at Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS).

There are two types of wax used in this process: soft wax, also known as strip wax, which is removed with a cloth or paper strip, and hard wax, which hardens on the skin and is removed without strips. Pros Cons Shaving is one of the most common and straightforward methods of hair removal , involving the use of a razor to cut hair on the skin's surface. "It acts as a form of physical exfoliation, effectively sloughing off dead skin cells and leaving the skin feeling smoother, although it can cause irritation if the skin is sensitive or if shaving techniques are not carefully followed," explains Dr Sharma.
