Listen to Story GT mentor Gary Kirsten is set to join Pakistan in a day's time. The former India head coach has been with the franchise for the last three years and has guided them to an IPL title in 2022. The GT players and coaches bid goodbye to Kirsten via a video.

GT posted snippets of the players saying their last words to Kirsten. Head coach Ashish Nehra was at his hilarious best stating that Kirsten was going to coach another shade of green. The former South Africa cricketer has taken over a Pakistan side which has been in turmoil since the last ODI World Cup.



Pakistan has seen changes in captaincy and the coaching staff and is in a tricky position at the moment. Kirsten's first assignment with the side is against England after which they will go to the T20 World Cup, set to start from June 1 in the USA and West Indies. Kirsten added that his goal is to unite the Pakistan men's white-ball team, harnessing their considerable talents towards a common objective.

Kirsten's appointment by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was announced recently, marking a significant step in his coaching career which includes previous successful stints with India and Sout.
