The U.S. International Trade Commission is investigating a complaint filed by ArcelorMittal (NYSE: MT ) that VinFast ( VFS ) violated its patents.

The patents are related to ArcelorMittal’s (NYSE: MT ) high-strength aluminum and aluminum alloy-coated steel in imported vehicles, Reuters reported Monday. ArcelorMittal ( MT ) said it first told VinFast of the violations in its VF 8 sport utility vehicle in November 2022. The company also believes the VF 3, VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9 also infringe on its patents .

VinFast started delivering the VF 8 sport utility vehicle in California in 2023 and plans to open its first North American manufacturing plant in North Carolina in 2025. Reuters reported that ArcelorMittal purchased a VF 8 to test it out. Premarket MT is up 0.

3% and VFS is down 10.7%. Chinese automaker Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI ) has postponed the launch of its all-electric SUVs till the first half of 2025 , company CEO and founder Li Xiang said late on Monday.

The number of branded charging stations and incremental display spots are two critical and necessary conditions for selling the BEV SUV products, Xiang said in a post-earnin.
