After weeks of wet, damp and overcast weather, Britain is forecast to enjoy a prolonged period of hot weather. By Monday, very warm air will extend from Portugal and Spain towards the UK and then on to Scandinavia by Wednesday.
According to recent Netweather maps, the temperatures will peak at around 26C next Wednesday with the hottest temperatures being seen in the south and south east. Cities such as London , Reading , and Swindon will be subject to the highest temperatures. Meanwhile, further south, the mercury will be slightly lower on the south coast with the likes of Southampton , Brighton , Dover , and Plymouth seeing slightly lower temperatures of around 19C to 25C.
