The duo was last spotted around 6pm in the vicinity of Plymouth Hoe, in Plymouth, Devon , with no further sightings reported. The search operation this evening has escalated, involving three lifeboats, a coastguard helicopter, and police units. Devon and Cornwall Police have released a statement calling for the missing swimmers to make contact if they are safe, highlighting that officers are supporting coastal authorities in the extensive search.



"Officers were notified at around 6pm this evening [Monday 1 July] to a concern of welfare of two swimmers seen in the water at West Hoe, Plymouth," the police disclosed.
