A film made by 19 children from St Colmcille’s High School from Crossgar have been nominated for their movie – Cereal Killers Young filmmakers from two Co Down schools have secured places on the shortlist for the esteemed UK-wide Into Film Awards. The young people are gearing up for a trip to London on 25th June where they'll find out if they've managed to topple the competition in a prestegious red carpet ceremony. St Colmcille's High School based in Crossgar has seen its group of Year 8 pupils nominated for Best Film (aged 12-15).

Their nomination comes for their engaging live-action film, Cereal Killers. In addition, Caireen Ferguson, a 19 year old who attended Assumption Grammar and is currently pursuing her love for film at Arts University Bournemouth, earned her place on the shortlist for Best Animation (aged 12 and over) thanks to Frog Flight - a film she created for her A Levels the previous year. Made possible each year due to support from the UK Screen Industry, the awards aim to highlight young people who might cinematically shape our tomorrow. The Education charity, Into Film which is backed by the BFI and National Lottery Good Cause funds, works to ensure film remains a central part of children and young people's le.
