Nicholas Galitzine has warned period drama fans that his own recent hit, Mary and George, has even more scandalous sex scenes than Bridgerton. The 29-year-old actor plays a version of historic figure George Villiers alongside Hollywood queen Julianne Moore as his mother, Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham. The racy seven part drama sees Mary encourage her son to seduce King James VI of Scotland , King James I of the United Kingdom , in order for them to gain power within society.
The drama plays on historian’s belief that the first King of the United Kingdom was bisexual - with the Sky Atlantic series featuring wild scenes of group sex, visits to brothels and other explicit moments. The show could rival Netflix ’s notorious bonkfest Bridgerton which returned to the streaming service this month for the first half of the third season. Mary & George, meanwhile, first aired in the UK in March and later began airing in the USA via Starz last month.
While promoting the show, Nicholas explained that there were some days that he had to work on multiple sex scenes.
