Thursday, June 13, 2024 Turkish Airlines , the world’s most internationally connected airline, has launched a groundbreaking art project titled “Inner Portrait.” This visionary initiative, in collaboration with the renowned media artist Refik Anadol, redefines storytelling through the data of human connection, offering a profound exploration of the human desire to travel and its effects on biology. The project delves into the inner worlds of four individuals who have never traveled abroad.

Tuikuru, a man from the Amazon, experiences the vibrant streets of Tokyo; Esther, a Kenyan woman, uncovers the rich history of Istanbul; Sahar, an Australian woman, journeys through the ancient wonders of Göbeklitepe and Cappadocia; and Sigurbjörn, an Icelandic man, marvels at the beauty of Jordan. Using the latest AI tools and neuroscientific sensors, Anadol and his team capture and transform the raw emotional data of these first-time travelers into AI Data Paintings. Brain data serves as the pigment for a mesmerizing visual narrative, illustrating the transformative power of travel.
