Article content Re. “On Alberta campus demonstrations and the danger of double standards,” Keith Gerein, May 17 The commentary from Keith Gerein was good, up to believing the Freedom Convoy was illegal simply because it highly disrupted the economy. It did not.

We know this because both the supply chain and our economy was stagnant because of Trudeau’s draconian COVID policies. It was Trudeau that said this was a small fringe minority and stuck to that but still decided to illegally call the Emergencies Act. But let us go back to February 2020, where our economy was truly hurt, a precursor to absolutely shutting down our economy.



Trudeau, and even this province, had no problem with a group of terrorists shutting down our supply chain by blocking railways and some highways. Our leaders sat and watched and did nothing. It just kind of petered out after six weeks.

The damage was done and Trudeau did the coup de grâce. Candidates develop their own platforms, raise their own funds and are accountable only to the people in their wards — not to a larger party who has supported them financially and has the power to tell them how to vote.
