Travellers can stay in stunning Sardinia for free under new plans to attract young people to visit the island. The new initiative will allow young people can get free accommodation to discover the history and beauty of the Santa Barbara Mining Trail. The campaign, known as 'Leg's go in Cammino' , is not available across the summer period but will run from September 15 to December 15.

Travellers will need to be under the age of 35 and attain a credential of the Santa Barbara Mining Trail (a walking passport). Each traveller can obtain up to three vouchers (one voucher = one night stay) that allow them to stay overnight for no cost, in the Posadas (facilities managed directly by the Santa Barbara Mining Path Foundation) and in the accommodation affiliated with the CMSB Foundation. Travellers must also be in possession of a €5 (£4.

The foundation recommends that travellers first book the accommodation that are indicated in the itinerary descriptions and then request the vouchers. Vouchers must be used consecutively and can be shown upon check-in at the accommodation chosen. Each overnight stay also includes breakfast.
