Media personality and seasoned Nollywood actress, Toke Makinwa and an X user have debated on social media after sharing her views on tribal marks. Taking to her X page, Toke Makinwa shared her thoughts after seeing a beautiful influencer with tribal marks, reflecting on the cruelty of certain cultural practices. She argued that marking a child without their consent for identification purposes is cruel, although she acknowledged that parents in the past were unaware of this.
She further expressed her gratitude that the tradition has been abolished while recounting how her grandmother, who had tribal marks on her face and arms, and wondered how she managed with them at a young age.
