Photo by Ashley Fraser / POSTMEDIA Article content Three Ottawa-area people face a number of drug and weapons charges after provincial police, acting on information from the public, conducted a “high-risk traffic stop” on Highway 417 near Arnprior Saturday night. In a release, the OPP said they were informed that a vehicle headed east from Pembroke was believed to have a loaded firearm inside. Officers from the Renfrew detachment located the vehicle.
Eastbound lanes were closed near Campbell Drive and officers brought the vehicle to a halt. Officers seized a loaded handgun, a variety of drugs and “drug trafficking paraphernalia.” Two men and a woman in their 20s were charged and are to appear for a bail heariung at a later date.
