Nursery worker Kate Roughley arrives at court A nursery worker told a nine-month-old baby to "stop your whinging" weeks before she killed the baby by placing her face down on a bean bag for more than 90 minutes. A jury has unanimously found Kate Roughley , 37, guilty of manslaughter and she will be sentenced on Wednesday. Her cruel remarks were caught on CCTV and used as evidence that the early years practitioner had "taken against" baby Genevieve Meehan, a court heard.

Roughley, from Stockport, was also caught on camera saying "Genevieve, if we had any chance of being friends, you just blew it" at Tiny Toes Nursery in Stockport, Greater Manchester, reports the Mirror. Roughley discovered Genevieve's lifeless body on the afternoon of May 9, 2022. Colleagues and then paramedics attempted to revive her but she was pronounced dead later that day in hospital.
