Debbie Duncan has been targeted by online hatred amid her growing despair as her son Jay Slater remains missing. The British teen is the latest tourist to have gone missing abroad and he was last heard from on Monday morning (June 17) at 8.15am, after making the decision to stay with individuals he met during the NRG music festival that same day.
As fears continue to grow for the 19-year-old, who was last seen at the Rural de Teno Park, This Morning's Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard spoke about his disappearance this Thursday (June 20) with Tim Campbell and Nick Ferrari. "It's really distressing", Tim Campbell first said, "in an age where social media could be used for good in terms of locating or possible sightings, some people are going to the mum and saying really negative things (..
.) which is so disgusting." Hailing from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, Jay jetted off to Tenerife to attend the NRG festival with his friend Lucy, was last heard from when he announced his plans to walk back to their accommodation after failing to catch a bus.
The walk itself from the Rural de Teno Park is said to be a whopping 11-hour-long trek. Major search efforts are currently underway in Tenerife, which is the largest of Spain's Canary islands, and Jay Slater's devastated mother Debbie has joined the search herself on Tuesday (June 18). Speaking to ITV News, Debbie explained that her young son had been saving up for his holiday and issued a heart-breaking plea.
"He's just an ace person, everyon.
