One of 's most-beloved stars has sent the show into a frenzy after he gushed over a woman generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Veteran broadcaster and former politician Gyles Brandreth, 76, made another appearance on the show on Monday (June 3). He was joined by regular weekday hosts and , as well as presenter Isla Traquair.
On the show, the foursome were discussing the big news hitting the headlines on the day. This included debates on straight actors playing gay roles, as well as heartfelt tributes to rugby player Rob Burrow, who sadly died due to motor neuron disease on Sunday (June 2). As the conversations went on, Ben and Cat said that the show was to go to a commercial break.
However, ahead of going off-air, Ben and Cat gave a taste of some of the interesting items that would be coming up on the show that day. In one interesting item, Ben and Cat explained how artificially generated women are being entered into beauty pageants. As they promoted the item, they gave some backstory to one of the supposed "girls" taking part in the competitions.
Ben explained: "We're also treating you to Anne Kurdy. Now, she's an ambassador for the French region of Brittany and passionate about protecting the oceans - except, she's not actually real." Several photos of "Anne" appeared on the screen to give viewers an idea of how AI had generated the character.
