CHOOSING a baby name can be hard, and you can’t please everyone with your final decision. However, one mum has come under fire for one of her kids’ names which is rather unusual indeed. The mum revealed on TikTok how her daughters were called Khaymbree and Pharkyr - but the second one may not be pronounced how you’d imagine.
One follower asked her if the girl’s name was pronounced like “Farker”. The mum replied: “Omg someone else literally said the same thing. “Like no, what about that looks like Farker?” She revealed that “Pharkyr” is actually said like “Park-ear”.
This didn’t satisfy the viewer, however, who pointed out that “ph” words are usually pronounced as an “f.” The mum defended her decision and hit back saying: “It’s pronounced how I say it’s pronounced tho.” Many people were quick to chime in with their views on the unusual name.
One said: “Nah. This one is criminal.” Another added: “I feel so bad for teachers who have to tell kids with stupid names like these, gently, that their parents are morons and their name is stupid.
” A third commented: “I'm terrified of our society's future .” It’s not the only baby name pronunciation which has proved divisive. One woman came to the realisation ten days after naming her child that she had been pronouncing the moniker all wrong.
