Tucked away in the heart of a gorgeous Welsh forest is a manmade boardwalk looks like it's been lifted straight out of a picture book. It allows people to take in the surroundings on a more easy-going route through the area offering perfect pitstops for pictures along the way. It's part of Hafren Forest, which is northwest of the ancient market town in Llanidloes, Powys.

If you're taking a day trip then you'll be looking at a journey time at a little more than two hours from the likes of Cardiff or Swansea , slightly less if you're coming from Birmingham, about 90 minutes if you're travelling from Wrexham, or under an hour from the coast at Aberystwyth in Ceredigion . The boardwalk itself was constructed as part of the Hafren Forest cascade walk. If you are walking from the forest's car park it is a 30-minute amble to the boardwalk along the riverbank and along the side of the tumbling cascades.
