When you think of London, sandy beaches aren't exactly the first thing that comes to mind. The city has a lot to offer, but white-sand beaches are not one of them. However, London does have its own version of 'beaches' scattered along the River Thames .
We're not suggesting you take a dip in the river - in fact, definitely don't do that - but when the weather is nice, it's always lovely to be near the water. Tucked away behind a large concrete tower block is a small beach that offers views of the O2 Arena . Folly House Beach is located in Cubitt Town, on the Isle of Dogs.
