Glasgow offers an abundance of different attractions and activities for everyone to enjoy. With its rich heritage, top tier museums and boozy bars the city has lots to cater to everyone's individual interests. With the summer holidays in full swing, we ventured onto the streets of the city centre to ask people what their favourite gems to visit in the city are, and the best places they'd recommend to any tourist visiting the dear green place.
Here are some hidden gems to check off your bucket list. Christine from Moodiesburn, recommended you visit Ashton Lane. This is a cobbled backstreet located in the west end and is noted for its bars, restaurants and licensed cinema.
This is indeed a hidden gem, although not the easiest to find, this lively little backstreet is filled with atmosphere with bars such as Vodka Wodka and Jinty McGuinty’s. The lane is decorated with fairy lights creating a magical feeling at night time. Graham from Glasgow said one of the best things to do in the city is visit the transport museum.
Riverside Museum is Glasgow's award-winning transport museum with over 3,000 objects on display ranging from skateboards to locomotives, paintings to prams and cars to a Stormtrooper. Outside you will find the Tall Ship, Glenlee, the UK’s only floating Clyde-built sailing ship which is free to enter. Step on board the ship where you will come to find all sorts of entertainment for kids including an under 5’s play area in the cargo.
This is a day out suitable f.
