GRAND FORKS – The Opal, an event space located just south of Gateway Drive on Grand Forks' north end, will relocate downtown this winter, expanding the amount of event space offered in the area. The event space is a property of 322 Hospitality Group, which also owns the Olive Ann Hotel, Cloud 9 Events and 322 Skies. According to Director of Marketing Allison Johnson, the new home for the space is an upcoming renovation project currently in the design phase.

“To provide this opportunity for greater Grand Forks is going to be really exciting,” Johnson said. “Just peeking at the renderings, I’m excited.” The new home for the event center will be located on the second floor of 402 DeMers Ave.

The move gathers all of 322 Hospitality Group’s properties – apart from the Crisp & Green restaurant on South Columbia Road – in one location: downtown Grand Forks, with the Olive Ann Hotel as the nexus. “We found a really beautiful space here connected to the Olive Ann Hotel that we found will be really valuable in the overall experience of our guests in terms of hosting events, " Johnson said.
