A brand new salon with a unique concept has opened up in West Bridgford . No. 4, in Tudor Square, officially opened its doors on Tuesday, June 4, and the owner says they offer clients a 'couture' experience, taking inspiration from French clothing brand Balmain.
The unit was formerly occupied by Estilo, a ladies' clothing shop which shut down in 2023. No. 4 owner Charlotte Moonsamy says the salon was borne out of her frustrations as a client.
"When I’d previously go to salons, I’d never felt truly satisfied with my experience," said the 39-year-old. "I wanted to open somewhere that ticked all my boxes." Charlotte, who lives in Keyworth but describes West Bridgford as her 'social hub,' says when the opportunity arose to purchase a salon, she knew she'd need to do something different.
She continued: "I wanted to offer something high end and I'd always had the idea for a boujee salon. "But I wanted to offer a point of difference; in West Bridgford there are a lot of salons. And I've always really liked Balmain as a fashion brand.
