As you walk down a remote country track surrounded by nothing but green grass and hills in a sleepy part of Carmarthenshire between the towns of Carmarthen and Llandeilo, you could be forgiven for thinking that you’re seeing things. To your left, an enchanting horsebox with a large bath outside it; to your right, a sauna at the top of a field. This isn’t just a couple of fields and a track.

This is a holiday destination with a difference. If you really want to get away from it all and cut yourself off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is surely the place. Situated just outside the tiny village of Llanegwad - accessed via the A40 heading east towards Llandeilo - the destination is called Far A Field , the brainchild of a couple who moved to the area and wanted to create something truly magical.

The true delight of what’s on offer is evident when you arrive at the accommodation, which is made up of one living space including a bed for two. If you sit outside the horsebox, or indeed in your own private outdoor bath, you simply look out over a field as the river trickles past. Behind that, it’s just field after field as you totally immerse yourself into the stunning Towy Valley.
