Getting into Music Owen: Growing up, our nanny and granda used to have a holiday home down in Wexford so we had long car journeys with them. One of their favourite artists was The Everly Brothers, so that’s where we got into doing vocal harmonies and singing together. We’ve always been on the same page and a music teacher we had in school really took us under his wing when we went into first year.
He taught us how to harmonise and we’ve been in sync since then. Country music is such a beautiful genre and it suits our vocal harmonies very well. As well as that, it’s about emotion and it tells a story.
It does emotion better than a lot of genres. Our interests are similar enough in music but we have different hobbies outside of singing together. I have an interest in music production, I studied sound engineering in Temple Bar.
I love that end of things, but we are always aligned when it comes to the interests of the group. Matthew: Many people in Dublin probably didn't grow up listening to country music , but we had our grandparents to show it to us. Maybe if they were more exposed to it they would fall in love with it like we did.
