On this 4th of July, there were different kind of explosions on On Thursday, the 4th of July-themed episode began with Paris continuing to confront Hope since Hope in a previous episode. She let Hope know Thomas was over her and acknowledged that she understood the was confusing for her, but she thought Hope and her were friends. Hope tried to defend herself by saying that Thomas had proposed to her, wanted to be with her and they have a child together.
Paris reminded Hope that she said no to his proposal. Hope told her things aren't so easy and how she felt the two of them rushed to an engagement. Then Hope told Paris she was the only woman in Thomas' life for years and Paris was wondering if Hope was implying Thomas was going to go back to her.
Hope made a thinly-veiled warning about Thomas being a "one-woman man". Paris exclaimed to Hope that she didn't appreciate the "warning" about Thomas' loyalty that Hope was giving when she was the one making moves on him. Paris stressed that her and Thomas' relationship is built on honesty.
She added that Hope knew nothing about their relationship or her relationship with Douglas. Hope made a sort of surprised face at that which Paris noticed and made a comment about. She mentioned that she knew it must "sting" that Douglas has embraced her.
Hope agreed saying that it would as she is Douglas' mother which Paris than replied that she was sensitive to that. She emphasized to Hope that Thomas loves her and Hope needed to stop acting lik.
