Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh have nurtured a strong bond of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect over the past four decades, according to the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam, Nahida Rahman Shumona. She made these remarks during the launch of the Bangladesh Textile Exhibition at the Malay Technology Museum in Kota Batu on Tuesday. The exhibition serves as a testament to the cultural commonalities and understanding that have flourished between the two nations, commemorating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Brunei.

Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, inaugurated the exhibition as the guest of honour. In his welcoming remarks, Acting Director of Museums Department, Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus, highlighted the significance of the textile industry in the history and culture of both countries. “It is a source of our national pride and identity passed down through generations,” he said.



Pengiran Haji Rosli further noted that the Textile Exhibition celebrates cultural heritage, appreciating the craftsmanship, creativity, and beauty of textile art from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
