April 23, 1962—July 7, 2024 Therese "Terrie" Marie Higinbotham passed away peacefully at her home in Butte on July 7. She was born in Seattle, WA on April 23, 1962, to Harlan (deceased) and Patty Higinbotham. She was 62 years old.

Terrie was raised in Butte attending McKinley Grade School, North Central Junior High, and Butte Central High School. She graduated from Butte Central in 1980 and was active in many sports but focused on Basketball and Track. She attended Montana Tech and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Computer Science.

Post graduation Terrie relocated to Los Angeles to work in the Defense industry, and then lived and worked in Lewiston, ID before returning to Butte. Terrie loved the outdoors and was always looking for new hobbies to let her explore. In the Summer she would find any excuse to be near or on the water, spending weekends at Canyon Ferry Reservoir swimming, kayaking, fishing, windsurfing, or watching sunsets near the water's edge.

In Winter she was a skier and never let the cold weather keep her from a hike with her beloved dogs. When she traveled, it would normally involve an ocean, lake, or river. She particularly loved Alaska where she marveled at the beauty, ruggedness, and access to the water.

Her dogs were her "children", she deeply loved them, and they were her constant companions. She will be remembered by her family and close friends as a kind, intelligent person, who "created special things for our special days". She was always learning .
