SINGAPORE: The new Tengah bus interchange will open on Jul 21, the latest in a slew of amenities accessible to residents. The interchange comes on the heels of Tengah's first supermarket and food court . The Giant supermarket and Koufu food court opened on Jun 28, providing residents with retail and dining options.
Located along Tengah Boulevard, it "has been designed with inclusivity in mind, catering to families with young children, seniors, as well as those with mobility challenges", the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Friday (Jul 5). Barrier-free entrances, as well as a dedicated priority queue zone and seating at all boarding berths are among some of the commuter-friendly features at the interchange. Others include the wheelchair-accessible toilets, changing room and baby care room, which are all equipped with auto-sliding doors and activated by touchless sensors.
Commuters will also be able to utilise a care room that is "catered for those who might require a quiet and calming space", said LTA. The interchange will have staff amenities such as a canteen, dedicated toilets, cleaner's room and a lounge, as well built-in energy saving features like auto-sensor taps and motion sensor lights. ENHANCED CONNECTIVITY FOR TENGAH RESIDENTS Residents in Tengah will also have access to a new bus service, while two existing services will be extended.
