Taoiseach Simon Harris has revealed he has a ‘bone to pick’ with Taylor Swift following her admission about his native county in one of her songs. The American megastar makes her long-awaited return to Ireland on Friday evening as she performs three sold-out nights at the Aviva Stadium for the Eras Tour. With tickets like gold dust, the Taoiseach has revealed that he hasn’t secured passes for any of the three nights.

Despite not having tickets himself, the new Fine Gael leader told media he was ‘really conscious that it’s a moment of great excitement for many, many, many people across the country. ‘I actually think this is going to be a great weekend for our capital city,’ he said, ‘Between our GAA matches; between Longitude in Marlay Park, Shania Twain out in Malahide, obviously Taylor Swift, Pride tomorrow — there’s a lot of really exciting events happening and I’m hoping that it’s going to be a really good weekend that people can enjoy and celebrate and stay safe.’ With Taylor referencing the Taoiseach’s home county of Wicklow in one of her tracks, Sweet Nothing, which was on her Midnights album, Mr Harris revealed he has ‘a bone to pick’ with her.
