Thursday, June 13, 2024 Under the guidance of Joe Y. Chou, Director-General of the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA), the Taiwan Tourism Workshop highlighted the country’s wealth of tourist attractions, deep cultural heritage, and outstanding travel services. This joint effort involved collaborations with local administrations, travel agencies, airlines, and traditional Taiwanese artists.

During the workshop, the TTA introduced a fresh logo and slogan, “TAIWAN – Waves of Wonder,” to showcase the captivating natural beauty and dynamic culture of Taiwan. With nearly 100 participants from the travel industry in Los Angeles, the event facilitated productive discussions and potential business partnerships. Mayor John Wu of San Gabriel, California, graced the occasion with warm wishes and gratitude.

The years 2024 and 2025 have been designated as Taiwan Tourism Years, with a focus on enticing North American tourists through initiatives like comprehensive island tours, complimentary half-day stopover tours, and cruise expeditions. These endeavors are geared towards enhancing Taiwan’s visibility in the global tourism landscape. The Los Angeles tourism workshop not only fostered important business ties but also highlighted Taiwan’s resilience post the Hualien earthquake in April.

By embracing trends such as ecotourism and indigenous tourism, Taiwan is leading the way in sustainable travel experiences worldwide. This reflects Taiwan’s dedication to environmental preserv.
