In just three days, the Instagram followers of actress Veena Nair saw a big surge while appreciation came nonstop on her handle. It was all an intrigue but some days back Veena finally decided to enact the same scene from the super hit movie ‘Ente Sooryaputhrikku’, and never had any idea how it would fare. Veena Nair recreated the song ‘Aalapanam Thedum Thaimanam’ from the movie where Sreevidya played the role of Vasundhara Devi.
And now, she has reasons to be happy since the video has crossed more than 70 lakh viewers on Instagram, a marvellous feat. Veena Nair: “There is more to Sreevidya Amma than her serene beauty. I have always been mesmerized by the ease with which she transforms into a character.
It was during my time acting in ‘Sasneham’ serial in DD that I heard about her death. She remains for me the best actress. A desire to do her makeover was burning inside me for many years.
Veteran artists Sreelatha Namboothiri and KPAC Lalitha had likened my facial features to Sreevidya Amma while on film sets. While doing the movie ‘Mei Hoom Moosa’ even Suresh Gopi sir admitted to this resemblance. The makeover shoot happened in the blink of an eye.
It all came too soon. The yellow saree was taken from ‘Weavers Village’ owned by Bigg Boss fame Shobha. We also managed to pick up a necklace, bangle and an earring resembling the same from the movie.
The tanpura instrument was taken for rent while the shoot was done inside my apartment. I have wide eyebrows .
