Ghanaian collective SuperJazzClub have shared their new EP ‘MONOCHROME RADIO’ in full. The five-track EP melds together the sounds of early 2000s R&B with Ghanaian hip-life and homegrown local hip-hop from their native Accra, with the off-beat, after-hours electronic flourishes that characterised their earlier projects, namely the ‘ For All The Good Times ‘ project in 2020. The “fusion project” represents a step-up for the interdisciplinary group, made up of Øbed , BiQo, Seyyoh , Tano Jackson , Joeyturks , Ansah Live and Anthony Orleans-Lindsay , and together they declare “the rookie seasons are over .
” To commemorate the release of the EP, SuperJazzClub have unveiled ‘UNO’ featuring British artist-producer BenjiFlow as the focus track, a dimly-lit a synthesis of Pan-African ambiance – a summer soundtrack to the underground basement party Speaking on the collaborative process , SuperJazzClub said: “It was a beautiful and seamless moment working with Benji. Øbed pulled out a pack of beats at the session and that beat happened to be the last one we played and he instantly connected with it. The energy in the studio was full blast from then on.
It’s a song inspired by the things we love to talk about like life, God, relationships and money”. — — Photo Credit: Babajide Osho.
