Edwina Currie and Reverend Richard Coles have shared their own experiences behind the Strictly scenes as they seemed to disagree on what the show entailed. While Strictly Come Dancing is facing an escalating cataclysm following misconduct allegations targeting both Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima , both former contestants appeared on the set of Good Morning Britain to talk about the crisis. During their chat with Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Madeley this Thursday, July 18, the ex-Strictly stars, who respectively took part in the BBC One dancing competition in 2011 and 2017, have shared their own views on the popular dancing show.

While Richard admitted that the competition could be intense, even "brutal" as "tears and tantrums" were spotted behind the scenes, Edwina called out influencers taking part in the show while forgetting the competitive nature of Strictly Come Dancing and the "hard work" it involves. "I don't know Graziano but I worked with Giovanni, it was in a group situation. I always found him charming and delightful, and easy to get on with", Richard said about Giovanni Pernice, who has been hit with misconduct allegations due to his alleged "militant approach" to training.



"You would sometimes see tears, you would sometimes see tantrums that the audience didn't see but I think that's partly to do with the intensity of the experience people have in rehearsals. It's very physical, in some ways it's quite brutal, and also, because it's an elimination show, .
