Stranger Things fans, prepare for one last trip to the Upside Down - as season 5 is in the making! Filming on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things began back in January – and now it's been confirmed that the cast and crew are already halfway through. The Duffer Brothers and Netflix recently confirmed three new castings in an epic behind-the-scenes clip, released to celebrate the halfway mark, also sharing first looks at Terminator star Linda Hamilton on set and shots of the original cast . While much remains under wraps for now as to the specifics of season 5, we do know that the final instalment will pick up straight after the end of season 4, which saw the California gang return to Hawkins and take on the Lord of The Upside Down.
Producer Shawn Levy previously promised a strong storyline for Noah Schnapp's character Will, telling RadioTimes.com : "When we give Noah the juicy stuff, he delivers, and season 5 will be doing that once again." Levy also teased that there will be "big tears, lots of them" in the final outing - so be prepared! Meanwhile, Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the show, has teased the "movie-length" episodes set to come.
"Our showrunners, Matt and Ross [Duffer], take a lot of responsibility. They're very intense about the quality of the continued writing," she told Penn Badgley's Podcrushed podcast. "It takes a long time to write each season, and it takes a long time to shoot them - we're basically making eight movies.
