Article content Paula Abdul’s upcoming coast-to-coast Canadian tour includes two stops in Saskatchewan. The global entertainment icon — a renowned pop singer, dancer, choreographer, and TV personality — is slated to visit the Brandt Centre in Regina on Oct. 8 and SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on Oct.
9. She’s joined by fellow ‘80s stars Taylor Dayne and Tiffany. Abdul first found the spotlight at age 18 as a cheerleader with the Los Angeles Lakers, eventually serving as head choreographer of the Laker Girls.
She went on to become a prominent music video choreographer during the MTV era, working with the likes of Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, ZZ Top, George Michael, INXS, and Dolly Parton. Abdul has also received choreography credits in several TV shows and films, among them Can’t Buy Me Love, The Running Man, Coming to America, Jerry Maguire, The Doors, Action Jackson, and American Beauty. The Grammy-winning artist released her first record in 1988, Forever Your Girl, which became one of the biggest debut albums of all time.
