This Friday, June 28 from 1 to 5 p.m., the Stanley Center will host its Community Paint Day and Open House event.
Residents of all ages are invited to come join in on the fun working alongside artist Drew Etienne to create the Stanley Center’s new living mural, located in the alley between the Stanley Center and MCSA. The idea for the mural was announced in April, with the Stanley Center turning to the community for design concepts based around the seven petals of the Living Building Challenge: place, water, energy, health and happiness, materials, equity, and beauty and inspiration. “We received a lot of community input into the design and are pleased that our artist was so inclusive in his approach.
We believe Drew has created something that everyone will enjoy and is truly representative of the goals behind our living building,” said Mark Seaman, vice president and director of communications for the Stanley Center. During the painting event, guests can also enjoy free frozen treats and take a tour of the new Stanley Center. For more information on this and other Stanley Center events, visit its Facebook page.
