For the fifth year in a row, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus presents its Sommerkino with a selection of films from Germany. Whereas in previous years the focus was on the directors behind the camera, this year the focus is on an actress: we are showing highly acclaimed films featuring the talent of the now world-famous actress Sandra Hüller. Join Goethe between June 30 and July 4 for the ultimate summer nights in the city in the beautiful Goethe-Institut garden with comfortable lounge chairs, a big screen, and the famous Ledra Palace Hotel as a backdrop, as each film takes us on a different journey.

Sommerkino starts with one of her most recent films, by Frauke Finsterwalder a historical black comedy which tells a fictionalized story of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sisi and her lady-in-waiting, Countess Irma. Next up is a film where Sandra Hüller plays a supporting role, by Maria Schrader. Scientist Alma participates in an extraordinary experiment, in which she has to live for three weeks with Tom, a humanoid robot, created to make her happy.
