Creative ripples and soulful splashes 1 SECCA holds "Lyrics by the Lake" throughout the summer, hosted by popular speaker and artist LB the Poet. Behind SECCA, or the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Arts, this community arts event boasts live music, spoken word, comedy, poetry and live painting. The combination creates a unique artistic and audience experience, in front of the gorgeous backdrop of SECCA's lakeside backyard.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday with tickets starting at $20.
