Lorraine: Lucy Spraggan on Simon Cowell's apology Simon Cowell opened up on his "special bond" with former X Factor star Lucy Spraggan after he gave her away at her recent wedding. The music mogul walked the singer/songwriter down the aisle as she married photographer Emilia Smith at Saltmarshe Hall in East Yorkshire. The Britain's Got Talent creator and judge admitted he felt "honoured" to play such a significant part in proceedings after the two formed a friendship years after her appearance on the TV talent show.
They bonded after Lucy forgave him for the lack of support she received when she was forced to withdraw from the programme back in 2012. "Being asked to walk her down the aisle made me realise the significance and importance of that role and throughout the day, I was thinking even though it's been a relatively short time, we do feel like family, and we share a very special bond," he said of the occasion. Meanwhile, Lucy admitted there were tears from both parties.
"Simon and I were standing outside the door and my song started playing. I was already crying, and Simon definitely had a tear in his eye. "I was linking arms with him but then I realised I was holding on to his arm.
He kept saying, 'You're OK, you're all right.' Then when Emilia walked in with her dad I just sobbed," she revealed as they both spoke to Hello magazine. READ MORE: BBC Countryfile fans fume 'what's happened' as they issue the same complaint Simon Cowell walked Lucy Spraggan down the aisle a.
