Strictly favourite Shirley Ballas has hailed the Princess of Wales as "remarkably brave" after she revealed she was battling cancer this year. Shirley, 63, who has checks every three months after experiencing her own scare, met Kate, Princess Charlotte and Prince George when they visited the BBC ballroom. Less than six months later, it was revealed that Kate was have treatment for cancer.
And Shirley told the Mirror's Invite Only podcast she was in awe of her strength. She said: "I think it was remarkably brave of Kate when she came out to talk about her issues. I think the whole country wishes her the very, very best.
I'm hoping that she has such a speedy recovery that Strictly Come Dancing could be a place where she could come and have a joyous day when the show restarts again. She could bring the children back, we would love to have her. "I remember when she arrived before, we were all up in our rooms.
There seemed to be a lot of kerfuffle going on outside and around the corridors (but) I didn't really know what it was. And then the executive producer came up and told me, Kate will be here with the children. And I got myself so excited.
And then, of course, I could see on the monitor the children were in the studio. They actually got to sit in the judges chairs. They were so well behaved, beautifully poised.
And then I asked if we could meet them, and we actually got to meet Kate and her beautiful two children. "I actually got to give a little crown to Charlotte, and I gav.
