An infamous serial sperm donor, suspected of fathering as many as 1,000 children, convinced at least one woman to sleep with him in order to become pregnant 'in the natural way'. The Man With 1,000 Kids is a new documentary series launched this week. It investigates the story of Dutch musician and blogger Jonathan Meijer, with testimony from numerous women who were taken in by Meijer's manipulative ways and ended up bearing his offspring.
Meijer travelled the world – apparently aiming to father a record number of children through sperm donations., He told hundreds of women that his sperm would only produce offspring for five mothers - but in reality, this figure exceeds 500 and could be even higher. The 42-year-old YouTuber, however, complains that he's the victim of unfair criticism, insisting that there is "absolutely nothing wrong" with fathering hundreds of kids.
He says the documentary's title – The Man With 1,000 Kids – is misleading and it should've referred to him as 'the sperm donor who assisted families in the conception of 550 children,' reports . He also claimed that Netflix selectively focused on five disgruntled mothers, instead of, according to his claim, interviewing "the 225 families that I've helped." One interviewee, a middle-aged Dutch woman named Vanessa, shared her account of how she was deceived by Meijer's convincing charm: "From a very young age, I always wanted to be a mum," Vanessa said.
