A recently adopted rescue dog could barely contain his excitement during a sleepover at his new owner's mom's house. Stacy Lorenzen from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on of her adult daughter Carlie's new dog Sugar getting in during a recent stay at her home. "Carlie, and her best friend, Sidney, are starting college and moved into their own apartment.
They had been discussing getting a rescue, so, one Saturday in April, they took a visit to the Sioux Falls Humane Society where they fell in love with Sugar," Lorenzen told . "They filled out the paperwork, got approved, and brought her home that day." It is clear that Sugar is loving the opportunity to explore in a safe and loving environment since leaving the shelter.
"The Humane Society took her in as a stray. They estimated her age to be 2 and that she is part-yellow Lab, part-golden retriever," Lorenzen said. "At first, she was very calm and skittish.
But, as she's gotten more comfortable in her home and with her new people, she has thrived and become more energetic and curious." However, one dog who is definitely not amused by it all is Lorenzen's senior English springer spaniel, Mickey. As Sugar tears through the house in the video, running up and down the stairs, under the dining room table and even up onto a bed, Mickey cuts a thoroughly unimpressed figure.
