The week of June 2 started with an in-person Apostolic Christian Church service in the activity room. Many residents, Country View tenants, as well as their families and other visitors thoroughly enjoy this small, intimate setting for worshipping together. In addition, the livestreaming of the first service of the Roanoke A.
C. Church on the prairie was available on activity channel 2. Thank you to the volunteers who help make this all possible, including those who set up the room, the rotation of ministers and song leaders, and those who come to support their loved ones.
The work week started off with residents making lobby cookies along with the assistance of some of the junior volunteers. Next came board/card games, which was an extra-fun way to get to know some of these young people while playing Uno. The afternoon was filled with bingo with some family and friends followed by a Movie on activity channel 2.
All week in the evening the Roanoke Apostolic Christian vacation Bible school was livestreamed for those who wanted to watch it. Tuesday morning began with some exercises in the lobby. Then the fun moved into the activity room, which was set up for a flower art project.
Working with beautiful fresh flowers, cutting off the stems, and arranging them showed a lot of artistic talent of those involved. A group of several residents and a Country View tenant along with some family/friends went out for a very fun lunch at Woody’s in El Paso by cashing in their Bingo Bucks. T.
