Sign up to our free newsletter for the top North Wales stories sent straight to your e-mail The seafront restaurant below a Premier Inn hotel in North Wales has told customers it will now only be serving guests. A consultation was launched earlier this year at the Submariner Cookhouse + Pub site in Rhyl, which is linked to the town's seafront Premier Inn. The hotel and restaurant opened in 2018 and the eating place had been open to guests and walk-in customers.
But restaurant staff had been told their jobs were at risk. Earlier this year owner Whitbread said its branded restaurants has been impacted by a reduction in footfall from non-hotel guests. This had seen a decision taken to "evolve" the restaurant network.
