RTE star Diarmuid Gavin has shared how he transformed his grubby patio into a colourful haven and revealed some "savage" hacks for getting rid of slugs. The celebrity garden designer took to social media to share some incredible footage from his most recent garden revamp. Diarmuid started off his video by sweeping up fallen leaves and built up dirt around his tiled patio area.

The 60-year-old then cleared out the mess and re-arranged his pots. He then power washed his green tiles and transformed them to look brand new. The gorgeous olive green tiles had a funky circular pattern all over with hints of pink and cream throughout.

After he had washed the tiles, he then started adding some fresh pots of flowers to the patio. First up were some beautiful pink Begonia's, then he added bright yellow Dahlia's and a gorgeous pot of purple Betony's. Finally he added some vibrant daisies and magnificent Dianthu's.

After the TV star had decorated his garden with the colourful plants he captured a stunning shot of all the flower pots gathered together. The gorgeous patio area was then transformed from dull and grubby to a blooming garden, full of colour. Diarmuid then wrote in his caption: "It’s summer time! One more wash down of the tiled terrace and let’s get potted! It’s the one area of the garden where exuberant and sometimes clashing colour is celebrated.

"Over the next week or so I’ll set it with furniture and light it for evening use. But for now..

. it’s all pots!" Fans an.
